Use this social story with your child or client when they are establishing a morning routine before school. Discuss with your child the different steps they want to take to be ready for school in the morning. The social story includes illustrations of girl and boy versions for 4 different ethnicities (total of 8 versions).
Some parts of the story:
- In the morning, ___ (caregiver) will wake me up at ___(time). When they do this, it means it’s time for me to get out of bed!
- Once I get out of bed, I go to the kitchen for breakfast. I like to eat ____ for breakfast! It gives me energy that I can use all day.
- After breakfast, I will brush my teeth and wash my face. I feel clean and fresh!
